Desert of skulls - rules

Welcome to the rules section for the 'Desert of Skulls'-RP I'll be setting up soon. (Rules may be altered or added to as events unfold. ^^; )

The game system will be D&D 3.5, and every character starts at level 1. As soon as you have your character concept ready, please send me your backstory by a pm on this forum. Once your character sheet is completed, please slap it into the Myth-weavers' site, set the sheet to public and send me a link, also in pm. I will allow all alignments, though I feel it only fair to warn you I'm not going to script an evil campaign. If you use materials (this is: skills, character classes, feats, equipment etc.) from sourcebooks not available to me, I will require a full write-up of their qualities. And also the name of the source material. (Remember, what I don't have, I can still borrow from friends ... :8):)

Rather than rolling for your abilities, I am insitituting a 20 point buy system: all attributes are at a base of 10. You may distribute your 20 points among the abilities as you see fit. (Yes, you may choose to raise one ability score to 30, but don't come crying to me if you die in the first battle. ^^)

Regarding starting wealth: feel free to assume you have maximum starting wealth. Don't forget to buy some useful stuff, hm?

As you start at 1st level, you receive maximum hit points. Yay for you! ... And if you get to -10 hit points, for whatever reason, your character shall die. Sad for you. However, if you can scrape together the cash for a Raise dead spell and hang onto the body, I promise there will be opportunities to have your dead restored to you.
If you choose to make an entirely new character instead of restoring the old one, that's fine, too. But! You will start any new character at one level lower than those of your travelling companions, and I will require a full backstory and character sheet for the new character before it can enter play.
Continuing from this, you are only allowed to have one character in play, unless you choose to take the Leadership feat, with all its restrictions. If you choose to take on cohorts and such, you will also be required to give me a full backstory and sheet for them before they can enter play. (Yes, I'm merciless. Muhaha.)

That's all the rules for now. If you have requests for rules or if I think of something important, there will be additions. Don't forget to read the backstory for the campaign so you can align the backstory for your character thereto.

Has something happened to the Myth-weavers site? It keeps asking me for a username/password as though it was a restricted area or something. I can't get to my character sheet anymore. ):

Also, I'm working on backstory now. =D
